Alejandro Garnacho spends time with son under the Old Trafford lights after Manchester United’s final home game

Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho shared his final moments on the Old Trafford pitch for this season with his son on Wednesday night.

In their final home game, Man United picked up three points for the first time this month as they won 3-2 against Newcastle United. Garnacho started the game but was taken off in the 83rd minute.

The Argentina international welcomed his son, Enzo, along with partner Eva Garcia in October last year.

The 19-year-old has further built upon his promising outings from last season and looks set to be a key part of United’s rebuild under the INEOS sporting ownership in the years to come.

Garnacho’s current £50k-a-week contract at United is set to run until June 2028. The club will likely offer him an improved deal sooner rather than later.

United face Brighton in their final Premier League game of the season before preparing for the FA Cup final rematch against Man City the week after.

A season to forget for United, a season to remember for Garnacho

For reasons both personal and professional, Garnacho has had a great time this season.

United are looking towards a mass exodus next season as they look to lighten their wage bill, generate funds for player acquisitions, and comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.

It is hard to imagine, however, to expect them to let Garnacho go for any price next season. Alongside fellow academy graduate Kobbie Mainoo, the Argentine starlet has been one of the few shining lights for Red Devils, and both of them can be expected to be off the club’s long transfer list.

A hard reset awaits Man United on the other side of summer. Time will be needed before results start coming, but if the new sporting ownership does prove to have learned from the mistakes of the club’s recent past, then the positive results will flow, and expect Garnacho to be a part of them.
