Manchester United players train at Carrington ahead of their Champions League match against Galatasaray.

Antony and Kobbie Mainoo trained with the Manchester United squad ahead of their crucial Champions League clash with Galatasaray on Tuesday night.

Erik ten Hag’s side come into this game after their worst start to a season in 34 years and also have some work to do in Europe after losing to Bayern Munich in their opening match.

United know it will take a better performance against the Turkish giants when they meet at Old Trafford on Tuesday night and they can rely on Antony to deliver that.

The 23-year-old returned to training on Saturday and has now trained twice with his teammates, after being out for 19 days due to domestic violence allegations.

Any role against Galatasaray could depend on his current level of fitness, with Ten Hag previously confirming that he would be considered for the match.

“Antony will be considered, but yesterday was his first day back training with the team,” he said in his pre-match press conference. “Final training, then we’ll make a decision. So it’s under review.”

When asked if he was concerned about the message Antony returned to sending to victims of domestic violence, Ten Hag replied: “He cooperated fully; it turns out he wasn’t charged.”

United are still expected to be without Sergio Reguilon for the match after missing their opening training session, having missed both clashes with Crystal Palace last week. The expected target is that the left-back will returns against Brentford on Saturday.

United receive a boost as Mainoo takes part in a full training session. The youngster is yet to play for United this season after being selected for the first team by Ten Hag, one of the stars of the summer in pre-season, but saw his promotion to the first team delayed by an unfortunate ankle injury that occurred within five minutes of a friendly against Real Madrid.

Mainoo had recently been spotted undergoing an individual training programme and was spotted at Carrington with Jadon Sancho on Saturday.

Confirmed outfield training squad for Galatasaray:

Defenders: Evans, Maguire, Dalot, Varane, Lindelof.

Midfielders: McTominay, Van de Beek, Hannibal, Mainoo, Eriksen, Gore, Mount, Amrabat, Fernandes, Casemiro.

Attackers: Rashford, Martial, Hojlund, Forson, Antony, Garnacho, Pellistri.

Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Tyrell Malacia and Amad are still currently sidelined through injury and will miss tomorrow’s match.
