According to The Guardian, Manchester United want to focus on signing Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta in the current transfer window.
The Red Devils are close to completing the transfer of Andre Onana from Inter Milan.
As things stand, the Cameroonian will undergo a medical after the Old Trafford side accepted a €55m package from the Nerazzurri. United will now seek the services of another Serie A star in Hojlund.
The Red Devils have yet to make an offer for the Denmark international.
However, the Manchester club were in talks with the Bergamo club. Atalanta has no interest in a more solvent player contract for the 20-year-old.
The goddess has set a price of 70 million euros for the young man’s head. Whether the Old Trafford side will achieve that rating remains to be seen.
Last summer the Italian side signed Hojlund from Sturm Graz.He then becomes the protagonist of Gian Piero Gasperini at the Gewiss Stadium.
Although the Dane has shown great potential, his numbers are not that encouraging. In the 2022/23 season, the 20-year-old scored ten goals and provided four assists in 34 appearances in all competitions for the Bergamo-based club.
At United Erik, this witch desperately needs more attack depth. Anthony Martial is currently the only natural forward the manager has.
The former AS Monaco star was unreliable last season due to a series of fitness problems. In January we signed Wout Weghorst on the cover of a French citizen.
So the Red Devils clearly need to consolidate their ninth place this summer.
But with relatively little experience, will Hojlund be able to take the job at Old Trafford? Only time can tell.
