Man United won a dramatic victory over Brentford in the Premier League and this is the opinion of the players at Old Trafford.

Scott McTominay scored two dramatic stoppage time goals to spare Manchester United from another embarrassing defeat.

Mathias Jensen put the visitors ahead in the first half as United’s makeshift defense failed to cope with the threat. Goalkeeper Andre Onana should have done better but could only touch the ball with his weak hand. Casemiro was introduced at half-time for Christian Eriksen, but United struggled to get back into the game after the break. Scott McTominay thought he had scored a late equalizer but the goal was ruled offside.

The game then featured an incredible comeback as McTominay scored twice in stoppage time to give United all three points. Manchester Evening News editor Samuel Luckhurst was in the press box covering the match and here are his player ratings.

Diogo Dalot

Did not do enough in the final third, despite United’s ample possession of the ball, even though he had the benefit of playing at right-back. His late shot was parried and turned in by Scott McTominay. 5

Jonny Evans

A respectable return to the United starting XI at Old Trafford for the first time since February 2015. No teammate had his composure on the ball. 6

Harry Maguire

Rusty on his first league start since May with and without the ball in the first half but did not have as taxing a second half. Got late assist to help United win the game. 7

Victor Lindelof

Out of position and out of his depth at left-back, his weak clearance was punished by Mathias Jensen. Went off with a possible injury. 3

Casemiro

He has been playing at testimonial pace all season and this was the nadir of his United career. Hooked at half-time. 2

Sofyan Amrabat

Started in midfield for the first time and was unable to impose himself all afternoon, as busy as he was. 4

Mason Mount

Another demoralising day as he remains trapped in the ‘curse’ of the number seven. His corners were so flat he was taken off them. 3

Bruno Fernandes

Failed to provide a scintilla of inspiration and resorted to punts as early as the 30-minute mark. Kept going to deliver the ball McTominay turned in late on. 5

Marcus Rashford

Prompted groans from the home supporters again for not fully committing to a tackle. Had a shot on target but was substituted for the third match running. 4

Rasmus Hojlund

Worked hard, as always, but had little joy with so little help from teammates and was outnumbered by Brentford’s back three. 6

Andre Onana

Another error for the error-prone goalkeeper. Almost as bad is Onana resorted to hoofing the ball when he was bought to transform United’s playing style. Made some simple saves in the second half. 4

Subs

Christian Eriksen

A major improvement on Casemiro, he forced a save within eight minutes of his arrival. 6

Antony

An enterprising cameo for a while until he regressed. 5

Alejandro Garnacho

Kept going and improved United. 7

Anthony Martial

Did little at first but started to cause problems. 6

Scott McTominay

Came on to win the game with two goals. 9

Manager

Inexplicably played Lindelof at left-back but reacted decisively to remove to plodding Casemiro. Needed to make a change in the front four earlier. McTominay came up trumps for him. 6
