Manchester United are making progress in their pursuit to sign Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount. It looks like the England international will be Erik ten Hag’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

According to The Mirror, Manchester United are close to agreeing a deal with Chelsea worth £60million.

The Reds have already been turned down by two offers from Chelsea, who initially wanted £70m for the England international despite having just 12 months left on his current deal.

With Mount not willing to sign a new deal with Chelsea, the Blues must decide whether to make money now or let him go on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.

The report adds that Eric ten Haag is keen to finalize a deal ahead of the club’s pre-season tour, which begins on July 12 against Leeds in Oslo.

Mount will give the Dutch player more options in midfield as he can play multiple roles.

He is also a player with passing sense in his third of the last three, so we hope his arrival will help the team score more goals next season.
