Manchester City’s defensive midfield mainstay Rodri has sent a clear message of intent to the club’s Premier League title challengers ahead of the final matches of the season.

The three-time successive Premier League champions are looking to make it an unprecedented four top-flight crowns in a row in the coming weeks, but face stern competition from Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal players.

With Liverpool faltering in their most recent Premier League outings, both Arsenal and Manchester City have largely remained consistent in their results, although the direction of the trophy remains in the hands of Pep Guardiola’s stars.

“We all have the mentality to fight for everything, to win every game and that will never stop. We are always there for each other and it is a special group to be involved in. Of course, we are proud of the Treble last season, the four Premier League titles in five years, the Super Cup and the Club World Cup this season, but we want more.”

Rodri continued, “The feeling of lifting a trophy with our fans is something special and you want that feeling again and again. We are creating a legacy and we always want that taste of success.

“It would be history. No team has won four Premier League titles in a row and we want tobe the first. We need to keep those blue ribbons on the trophy and we will do everything we can from now until the end of the season to do that.”

Rodri is currently on a remarkable run of form himself, having remained unbeaten for Manchester City in the last 448 days, in a record that has lasted 70 games without a defeat in regulation time.

The Spaniard is integral to the way in which Manchester City operate, with the club losing numerous contests when Rodri has not featured, while the former Atletico Madrid man has also cropped up in big moments with goals for himself too.
