Manchester City have made history with their FA Cup semi-final victory over Chelsea.

Bernardo Silva’s 84th-minute strike gave the Citizens the victory in what was a controversial afternoon at Wembley.

Bernardo Silva fired Man City into the FA Cup final with victory over Chelsea on Saturday

Chelsea fans were furious as the ball appeared to strike Jack Grealish’s arm from a Cole Palmer free-kick, but after a VAR check no penalty was given. And to make it worse, a goal kick was awarded to City.

A 3-3 draw at the Bernabeu saw Guardiola’s side take control in the second leg at the Etihad before they went behind.

They managed to pull it back to 1-1 before falling to defeat in the penalty shoot-out, with the match classed as a draw by FIFA despite the loss on penalties.

‘They literally lost the last game on penalties,’ another football fan pointed out on X.

Interestingly,  the 1-1 draw against Real Madrid is registered as a loss on the Man City website, with their last defeat coming back in December.

A 1-0 loss at Villa Park on December 6 was the last time that Guardiola’s side fell to defeat, going on their historic run since then.

With Arsenal returning to the top of the Premier League after beating Wolves on Saturday, City will be hoping they can extend their unbeaten run to leapfrog the Gunners once again and lift the Premier League.

The reigning Champions are on for a double, having progressed to the FA Cup final.
