Man Utd ‘propose sensational new offer’ for £60m top target with three players included in ‘swap deal’

Man Utd have reportedly made ‘a sensational new offer’ for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, who is one of Erik ten Hag’s main targets.

The Red Devils are moving fast enough to achieve their key transfer goals. Having already spent £55m to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea, they are now on the hunt for Inter Milan’s Andre Onana.

However, their main priority this summer is to sign at least one new striker following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo last December.

Wout Weghorst has since moved on, while Anthony Martial could also leave before next season.

United are known to be huge fans of Harry Kane but are likely to be focusing on other targets as they don’t want to become drawn into a drawn-out saga about striker Daniel Levy, who is desperate for a new season.

Hojlund, 20, has emerged as a potential alternative to the Red Devils after an impressive debut season in Serie A with Atalanta.

In his first 34 appearances for the Italian team, he scored ten goals and four assists. Football Insider reports that “during talks with Atalanta, United have offered at least three players partial swaps for Rasmus Hojlund”.

This allegedly “sensational new offer” doesn’t seem to interest Atalanta, who “remain true to their desire for a cash-only deal for their bonuses as negotiations on the deal are expected to continue.” Hojlund is at least supportive of the move as he has already agreed ‘personal terms’ with United.

The report adds. “But there is still a long way to go before a full agreement can be reached with United, who are also willing to pay significant sums for Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana and need to balance their finances.”
