Manchester United fans are furious at VAR’s decision not to allow Jonny Evans to score against Burnley, relating to a controversial moment in the match against Manchester City earlier this season

Evans thinks he gave his team the lead when he headed in from a corner.

However, VAR ruled out the goal because the referee judged Rasmus Hojlund to be in an offside position.

He stood in front of goalkeeper James Trafford, but Man United fans online were not satisfied with this call.

They discussed Nathan Ake’s controversial header against Fulham earlier this month.

VAR failed to rule out the goal even though Manuel Akanji was offside and appeared to block Bernd Leno’s vision.

Regarding Man City’s goal, user X wrote: “Stay poor and inconsistent @FA_PGMOL.”

A second person tweeted: “Notice they don’t even use the rear or front corner? How can you tell it’s blocking the side view.”

A third added: “It was a goal for Man City but offside for Man United.”

A fourth said: “To be honest, we can’t rest with VAR.Everything is against us. All. I do not criticize this decision. But we can’t rest.”

Another commented: “Nathan Ake’s goal against Fulham is similar to Jonny Evans’ goal against Burnley.Manuel Akanji is in a similar situation to Rasmus Hojlund. Man City’s goal still stands, but Man United’s goal was ruled out by VAR. There’s no consistency at all.”
