Erling Haaland revealed the changes he would make to football.

The Manchester City star scored a club-record 52 goals for his side last term as Pep Guardiola’s men won a historic Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup treble.

This term, however, the Norway international has battled a spate of injuries but still claimed 18 goals in his 23 Premier League appearances.

It’s fair to say that as one of the most potent strikers in the world, Haaland is likely to know a fair bit about football and how one could improve the game.

But speaking to Manchester City’s official podcast last month, the 23-year-old admitted that if he called the shots he would introduce goal-line technology around the entirety of the pitch.

He also suggested that there should be limits in place on how far a player can travel up the pitch for a throw-in and how quickly it must be taken.

“What annoys me is the throw-ins,” he explained. “If you throw like this or this or whatever, it doesn’t matter. Just have two hands on the ball and throw the ball. I don’t know the rules even, but if you throw down or up it doesn’t matter!

“I’d change that – just have two hands on the ball. We will see what happens in the future but you need a certain time limit to take throw-ins and you cannot take too many metres – just give a mark and you can only go there.”
