Pep Guardiola finally has some positive news to share as two Manchester City stars prepare to return on the eve of their Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.

On Wednesday, Grealish returned to training and Guardiola gave optimistic updates on the winger, as well as Kovacic. However, Bernardo will not be present.

Speaking before the match against Forest, Guardiola said Grealish could come off the bench while Kovacic could also return.

“Jack is coming back, he’s training and maybe he can play a few minutes. Kova is almost back. But now we’ve lost Bernardo for a few days and John and Kevin still can’t competition.”

Regarding Bernardo, Guardiola said the winger could miss up to two weeks, while Stones is still sidelined. When asked why Man City had more injuries at the beginning of the season, the boss said know made a simple observation.

“A lot of games. Less games, less injuries,” he said. “A lot of games in a row, not much rest. This is just that. We demand a lot of effort, sometimes we cannot sustain it. Jack in Sheffield suffered an incredible knock to his knee, it happens. But muscular injuries mean you miss a lot of games.”
