Manchester City got the better of their local rivals Manchester United once again this season and chief Ferran Soriano has now dug the knife into the Red Devils with a brutal dig

Ferran Soriano has targeted Manchester City’s Premier League rivals Manchester United for their revolving door policy with managers.

City scored a hat-trick under Pep Guardiola last season, becoming just the third manager appointed by the Abu Dhabi club’s owners since taking over the Etihad Stadium. This perceived loyalty saw Man City enjoy an unprecedented period of success.

Since Roberto Mancini joined the club they have won 20 major trophies, the vast majority of them under Guardiola. The Spaniard also managed to lead the club to an historic treble that matched the Red Devils’ successes in 1999.

United were not nearly as successful. United have burned five managers and more than £1.4billion in the transfer market in the decade since Sir Alex Ferguson retired to restore their former glory.people like David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick have come and gone. Several trophies were won during this period: an FA Cup with Van Gaal, while Mourinho won the League Cup and Europa League.

Those huge market outlays, coupled with high fees for outgoing managers, have put the Red Devils nowhere near the successes of their neighbors. The club’s debt to the Glazers also rose to £725m.

Soriano has targeted United for their seemingly erratic decisions about spending money and the position of their managers. He said, “How many coaches have we had in the last 10 years? Two – Manuel Pellegrini and Pep Guardiola. How many football coaches? One – Txiki Begiristian.

”Part of being successful is being consistent, resilient, and not panicking when we’re losing.

“I saw City go to lunch the morning after the games we lost and it was like a funeral and people were really mad. Then you have to be resilient, but also smart to think ‘today’. Today is not the day to make decisions.” . It’s one of the reasons we’ve been successful over the past decade.

“Soriano added: “Other people make decisions based on their feelings. We make informed decisions and take the time to think about them.

“The little joke in the group is that we say ‘no decision on Monday’ because the outcome of the weekend can affect you. We can lose games – big games – and we think: ‘You can be very sad and angry for 24 hours.’ .In the 2022/23 season,City beat their arch-rivals twice. They finished the Premier League 14 points clear of the Red Devils and also beat them in the FA Cup final.
