Kevin De Bruyne reveals when Manchester City future will be decided – three influencing factors confirmed

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has addressed his long-term future at the Etihad Stadium, amid the possibility of the 2024/25 season being his last in east Manchester.
The 33-year-old is out of contract at Manchester City at the end of the current campaign, with manager Pep Guardiola’s current deal also expiring at the Etihad Stadium following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.
De Bruyne, who has been at the Etihad Stadium since 2015, is currently the most senior member of the Manchester City first-team squad, having embarked on his 10th season with the Sky Blues last month.
The Belgian international scored during the Blues’ recent 4-1 win over Ipswich Town in the Premier League, and has started matches against both Chelsea and West Ham, with Manchester City sitting top of the table after three league fixtures.
Guardiola’s side are bidding to win the Premier League title for an historic fifth successive season, with De Bruyne having already won six Premier League titles with Manchester City.
The midfielder, who has 103 goals and 167 assists for the Blues, has won 16 trophies in east Manchester to date, including the UEFA Champions League, five League Cups and two FA Cups.
De Bruyne missed Manchester City’s success in the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup last year, but is set to compete in an expanded version of the latter tournament with Guardiola’s side in the United States next summer.
