Jack Grealish has made it clear through his activity on the social media platform Twitter that he thinks about the prospect of Declan Rice being signed by Manchester City. The most expensive player in British history could see his £100m move from Aston Villa to Etihad Stadium in 2021 in this timeslot as the Premier League champions are now behind West’s £100m Sterling captain Ham, Rice ’em, her is.

The Hammers are said to be ready to deal with any buyer who suits their assessment while behind-the-scenes talks with London stadium bosses continue.

Arsenal have already had two offers rejected – the latter was valued at £90million including surcharges – but City are now at the table and should be ready to pounce after Ilkay Gundogan opted to join Barcelona on a zero transfer.

According to reports from transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, City were close to finalizing a deal with West Ham for the 24-year-old midfielder in a bid at Arsenal in Italy last night.Theupdate was met with celebration from the majority of West Ham fans on social media, who have now come to terms with losing their hero and are frustrated by Arsenal’s approach to negotiations, which offered double the price below that of the Hammers required lay.

Grealish couldn’t resist and delighted in the tweet, which can still be seen on his Twitter account, suggesting he would like to work with his close friend should City cross the finish line.

The large number of West Ham fans on the platform appear to be in favor of selling Rice to Manchester City and have made it clear that they would obviously be happy at the prospect of London rivals Arsenal losing their key transfer target in such a painful manner.

However, the Gunners are still on the hunt and could quickly up their offer to a deal worth £100m for West Ham as transfer poker rages on.

Mikel Arteta is a believer in Rice and wants to build his squad around the England international, who will soon bid farewell to the Irons after guiding them to their first major title since 1980.

However,City have a potential ace up their sleeve in Kalvin Phillips, Rice’s partner in England midfield at Euro 2020.West Ham are big fans of the former Leeds player and could potentially be touted as cutting Rice’s player-plus-money package despite his desire to remain at Etihad Stadium.

Phillips is a ready replacement for the outgoing West Ham captain and if Rice were to join City next season his playing time would again be limited as he only made two Premier League appearances last season.Rice took the time to congratulate Grealish on his treble for Manchester City earlier this month on Instagram.

Grealish posted a photo with the Champions League trophy and wrote: “Champions League…treble, something I couldn’t even dream of. Wow.”England’steam-mate Rice was delighted with his compatriot, writing: “What a boy.”I’m so happy brother.”
