Man United take on Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday and our editors have shared their favorite starting XI.

Manchester United have had a difficult start to the season and need a win against Galatasaray on Tuesday night.

United began their Champions League campaign with a 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich and beating their group stage opponents at Old Trafford will be crucial if Erik ten Hag’s side are to progress to the last 16.

Galatasaray won the Turkish championship by a clear eight points last season and have quality players such as Lucas Torreira, Dries Mertens, Mauro Icardi and former United player Wilfried Zaha in their squad .

In team news, Antony has returned to training after being on leave and he will be available for selection again.Kobbie Mainoo also trained on Monday but Sergio Reguilon was not spotted and was not in contention to play.

Our writers have had their say on how United’s squad looks…

United have no choice but to persevere with Sofyan Amrabat at left-back, despite a miserable day his damage in the defeat against Palace. Victor Lindelof has been so bad this season that Harry Maguire deserves to be remembered.

Hannibal Mejbri is inexplicably this weekend and could become an asset after a week of ‘rest’. Bruno Fernandes regularly makes an impact on the right and Alejandro Garnacho deserves to start on the left.

Ten Hag’s options are limited due to injury, meaning at least one temporary option at fullback. Amrabat is no longer used in defense, which could give Lindelof an undeserved lifeline on the right flank.

Eriksen should be fit to play now after his appearance this weekend, and this could be a good first chance to see what Mount can bring from the right.

Rashford doesn’t deserve to start, but Garnacho is much better coming off the bench. Hojlund remains the only viable option in the middle.

I included Maguire in my preferred team to play Palace at the weekend and although Lindelof started at his expense, his performance was disappointing again and he should move to the bench for this game.

Hannibal should return to the side and Pellistri was anonymous at the weekend, which means playing Fernandes on the right is the logical approach. Antony only returned to training on Saturday and he can be involved from the bench. There are calls for Rashford to lose his starting place but that would do more bad than good right now.
