Man United face Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday, and our writers have revealed their preferred starting XI.

Manchester United will need to bounce back against Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

United have lost six of their 10 games in all competitions this season, with Tuesday’s shock 3-2 defeat to Turkish side Galatasaray in the Champions League raising bets on Brentford’s visit to Old Trafford. Money has increased.

Erik ten Hag needs three points this weekend as they have already secured a top-four spot just eight weeks into the season and will be hard-pressed to build on last season’s success. This is because it seems to be.

In terms of team news, Sergio Reguilon is back in training, but this game is too early for him to play.

Our writer had an opinion on how United should line up…

Samuel Luckhurst

Amrabat cannot play at left-back. He was brilliant when they showed up against Crystal Palace and he was appalling when they showed up. After that, we did poorly against Galatasaray.

Moving Diogo Dalot to left-back was always a logical step. Victor Lindelof has experience as a right-back at United and Harry Maguire deserves a starting spot regardless of where Lindelof plays.

Amrabat plays in midfield and moving Mason Mount to the right will be a plus. Alejandro Garnacho has had a delayed start to the league.

Reguilon’s absence is a blow for United, but the experiment with playing Amrabat at left-back must end. Dalot is the only other realistic replacement, so I would play Lindelof at right-back and Maguire in central defense alongside Varane.

There’s an argument that they need Amrabat in central midfield, and that’s definitely going to happen in the big games, but this is Brentford at home and they’re as bad as United, so they should give it a try. Casemiro, Mount and Fernandes can continue to take the fight to their opponents.

In attack, Wylund should start every week at the moment, with Rashford continuing on the left despite his poor form. Anthony came off the bench in midweek but has now returned. He is the only real option on the right wing but needs to work harder this season.

Stephen Railston

Maguire should have started against Galatasaray as Lindelof was not doing well. He should start alongside Varane here and playing Dalot at left-back and Lindelof on the opposite side seems the most logical approach.

Naming Casemiro on the bench was unthinkable for the majority of last season, but the 31-year-old has looked his age in the last few weeks and it would be fascinating to see if a midfield of Amrabat, Mount and Fernandes works.

Antony has a point to prove, just like Rashford, and the pair need to deliver before the international break.
