Another simply stated: ‘I’ve never seen anything like Josko Gvardiol’, while there was some who compared him to the games very best by writing: ‘You’ve got to be kidding me. Gvardiol looks like Messi. What the actual hell.’

The praise continued with more flattering posts including one that said: ‘Gvardiol might be the most complete defender I’ve ever seen. Omg what the hell.’

And another who said: ‘Defenders aren’t supposed to move like Josko Gvardiol.’

While the Croat’s movement was credited by one account by saying: ‘A man of Josko Gvardiol’s size and build shouldn’t be able to gracefully move like this, this is a freak of a defender.’

Fans took to social media to praise Josko Gvardiol's opening goal in the game against Fulham

The goal began a game of dominance for Manchester City as they returned to the top of the Premier League with the win at Craven Cottage.

Pep Guardiola’s side leapfrogged Arsenal and now lead the Gunners by two points who meet Manchester United at Old Trafford tomorrow.

However, Man City still have their crucial game in hand, when they meet Arsenal’s North London rivals Tottenham in midweek.
