Manchester United star Marcus Rashford was questioned about his football IQ at one particular moment during the disastrous 3-1 home defeat to Brighton.

United suffer a third defeat in five games, continuing their poor start to the Premier League season, after being largely dominated by Roberto De Zerbi’s side at Old Trafford.

He went past him and made the decision to shoot with his left foot, hitting the side-netting. But Rashford did not get his head up to see that Rasmus Hojlund had made a run to the far post and even slid in hope that he would receive the cross.

He attracted many other supporters, including one who said: “The fact that Hojlund pointed out where he would be and where he wanted the ball as soon as Rashford received the ball annoyed me even more.”

A second said: “Just growing up Rashford can see how Man City people work for Haaland.”

A third agreed: “It’s absolutely ridiculous. These bad decisions happen so often for a club at this level, you start to wonder if ETH doesn’t see it coming and not training them to do better.”
