Thomas Tuchel’s FC Bayern Munich are reportedly hoping to sign two players from Manchester City this summer, with a possible swap deal being considered.

Unsurprisingly, Bayern Munich are linked with several Premier League players as they are now managed by former Chelsea manager Tuchel.

Tottenham’s Harry Kane and West Ham’s Declan Rice have been named as potential targets but they appear not to have been considered in the England duo’s transfer.

The Bundesliga giants, meanwhile, have turned their attention to Man City defender Kyle Walker. His contract expires next year and it’s unclear if he will sign a new one.

Germanjournalist Christian Falk told Caught Offside that Bayern “had offered Walker a longer contract than City” and that they were “very hopeful” that a deal could be struck.

‘Bayern Munich are indeed very confident that the chance is good because Walker told them in these talks that he can think about the step to the Bundesliga. ‘The big thing is that Bayern would offer Walker a longer contract than City. We saw with the Ilkay Gundogan decision that Manchester City are not offering long-term contracts to players over the age of 30. Bayern Munich would do this at the moment. ‘It’s also partly inspired by the ongoing Benjamin Pavard situation – they have to sell him, he’s not changing his mind on this front. So a right-back is needed at Bayern Munich and Walker would be the No.1 solution on the wishlist. ‘Now, the talks are very concrete and Bayern is confident that they can get him. The offer, as it stands, is a two-year contract with the option of a further year beyond that.’

Falk reckons Pavard and Walker could switch clubs as part of a swap deal, while City’s Kalvin Phillips is also on ‘Bayern’s shortlist’.

‘So, Bayern sees a big chance. At the moment, the focus is completely on Walker and they want to buy him with the money from the Pavard deal. ‘Pavard in a swap deal with Walker would be a good deal for Bayern Munich. City have always tried to do swap deals, so this would be an idea. ‘Kalvin Phillips is also on Bayern’s shortlist this summer. The bosses have discussed a transfer but there’s yet to be an offer.’
