Mikel Arteta faces transfer competition from local rivals Spurs and Chelsea for the winger.

Arsenal transfer target Pedro Neto has made his decision as to where he would prefer to move this summer should the winger quit Wolves for a Premier League rival.

That’s according to TEAMtalk, with the outlet reporting that the Gunners are the preferred destination for the 24-year-old. Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are also named as sides keen on a swoop for the Portugal international but cannot offer the player Champions League football, which could be a deal-clincher for Mikel Arteta.

Neto would add back-up on the right flank for Bukayo Saka and bolster options as Emile Smith-Rowe and Reiss Nelson are linked with moves away.

Speaking about the player’s future at Wolves towards the end of last season, O’Neil said: “I don’t know how he’ll feel if or when an offer comes from a big club, obviously it can turn your head, but at this moment in time, if we told him there’s no offers coming in and he’ll be at Wolves next season, he’d be absolutely fine with that.”
