Michael Oliver will captain Manchester City and travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, the Premier League has announced.

Manchester City traveled to the Emirates Stadium looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League after suffering their first defeat of the season against Wolves in a disappointing performance at Molineux last weekend.

Josep Guardiola’s side bounced back with an impressive 3-1 win over RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night and a win on Sunday afternoon would move them four points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Arsenal defeated Manchester City on penalties in the FA Community Shield in August, but have not beaten the Sky Blues in the Premier League since 2015.

Manchester City won their third consecutive Premier League title last season with an impressive victory over the Gunners, with Kevin De Bruyne playing in both games against North London.

However, the Belgian will miss Sunday’s match and Rodri will also be suspended for this weekend’s Premier League match.

Arsenal could also be without the promising pairing of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, the latter of whom picked up a fresh injury in the Gunners’ Champions League defeat to Lens in midweek.

Ahead of Sunday’s match, the Premier League has announced the match officials for Manchester City vs Arsenal.

Match Referee

Michael Oliver has been appointed as referee for Sunday afternoon’s match between Manchester City and Arsenal.

The 38-year-old, who has refereed eight games so far this season, refereed 46 games last year and handed out 159 yellow cards and two red cards.

Oliver last took charge of Manchester City in September, when Pep Guardiola’s side defeated Fulham 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

Assistant Referees

Oliver accompanies assistant referees Stuart Burt and Lee Betts in north London.

Video Assistant Referee

Video Assistant Referee John Brooks and Video Assistant Referee Darren Cann will oversee proceedings.

Fourth Official

Tim Robinson has been appointed as his fourth official.

The referee will not only be monitoring the actions of managers Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola, but also actions in the two dugouts.
