He couldn’t reveal how long the injury will keep him out of action, but TV2 Sport via Mirror UK said he told his broadcaster: “It’s not going well.” The Gunners host champions Manchester City and at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday Saka’s absence could be a huge blow as the availability of left-back Gabriel Martinelli is also uncertain.

Arsenal have not won against Pep Guardiola’s side in the league since 2015, having lost both home and away to their title rivals last season.
