Bruno Fernandes becomes first Man Utd player to address Erik ten Hag’s future immediately after FA Cup final

Bruno Fernandes addressed the future of manager Erik ten Hag immediately after Manchester United won the FA Cup final.

United produced a near-perfect tactical display at Wembley, defeating reigning holders Manchester City 2-1 through goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

Jeremy Doku’s late strike was the only blot on the copybook for Ten Hag’s side, who otherwise managed to keep an under-par City out over the 90 minutes.

The victory comes amid reports over the future of Ten Hag, with The Guardian claiming on Friday that United were set to sack him after the final.

In a separate interview with BBC Sport, Fernandes said: “We know the manager has been under too much scrutiny. But that’s part of being at Manchester United.

“Players, staff, they all know we’re going to be under this. The manager, he’s experienced enough, he knows. He deserves [this FA Cup win] also. Everyone today, the staff, the backroom, the players, we all deserve this.”
