Ederson: No success with long balls over the top and didn’t have much to do other than pick the ball out of the net. 6

Walker: Some good cover work with his pace but also too much uncharacteristically sloppy play and got in a tangle for the goal. 6

Stones: Did not roam forward as often as he has but still assured in possession and ensured City kept pushing up. 7

Akanji: Didn’t know much about his goal but played well otherwise, moving forward on the ball with authority. 7

Ake: Played some nice balls forward and got in on the scoring at the end. 7

Rodri: Strolled through the game and then enjoyed an early rest with the game wrapped up. 7

Kovacic: His first league start since Arsenal and still adjusting to City wavelengths but the full match will do him good. 6

Alvarez: A day when not much came off for him but he was busy throughout and led the line when Haaland went off. 7

Silva: Picked up where he left off at Old Trafford running the game and his second goal was a sumptuous finish. 9

Doku: One goal, four assists. FOUR assists! Unplayable when he wanted to be and his quality made the difference. 9

Haaland: Could have done better with a few half-chances before his early substitution. 6

Substitutes

Foden (for Haaland, 46) Took his goal well and looked sharp. 7

Lewis (for Stones, 71) Made some intelligent runs 7

Nunes: (for Rodri, 71) A bit too casual in possession 6

Phillips (for Alvarez, 71) Caught in his own half 6

Bobb (for Silva, 85) First assist 7

Not used: Ortega, Dias, Gvardiol, Grealish
