Garnacho was one of many United players to pay tribute to Onana’s exploits on social media. However, the 19-year-old deleted his post on X after using two gorilla emojis alongside a photo of him celebrating with the goalkeeper.

The Argentina international initially edited the original post to remove two gorilla emojis and left the image on his timeline before it was completely deleted.

Garnacho could now face charges from the Football Association over a post that could be considered a “serious breach” of its rules on social media conduct.
