Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is on the verge of becoming a Man Utd player on transfer deadline day.

Manchester United have agreed with Fiorentina to sign midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. The Manchester Evening News report that United have agreed a €10m loan deal with Amrabat with an option to buy and the player is now set to join Old Trafford on a season-long loan.

United have agreed to meet the Italian club’s demands on transfer deadline day and Erik ten Hag is keen to bring the Moroccan international to the club.

Earlier in the week, Manchester United pulled out of the transfer of Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella, in part due to high loan fees, with Sergio Reguilon being a cheaper option.

It was revealed this morning that a private jet from Florence was due to arrive at Manchester Airport on Friday afternoon due to United’s interest in the Fiorentina midfielder.

A boutique jet is scheduled to touch down at Manchester Airport on Friday afternoon, and United did not deny the possibility of having arranged the private jet.

Amrabat was Ten Hag’s preferred target to bolster their midfield before tonight’s 11pm deadline. Ten Hag coached the Morocco international at FC Utrecht in the mid-2010s.

A one-year deal for defender Jonny Evans could be announced today with the 35-year-old training with the club over the summer and signing a short-term deal to play in pre-season games.
