Manchester United haven’t spent much this summer but have still managed to invest enough money to fund big money transfers and Mason Mount and Andre Onana are managed by Atalanta star Rasmus Hojlund.

Only a small stake was secured with the sale, but United may need to draw on a few players if they want to further strengthen their squad once the move to Hojlund is complete.

Dean Henderson is said to be one of the valuable players United would like to sack after several years on the sidelines at Old Trafford and is rumored to be in talks with Nottingham Forest for a permanent move.

Henderson spent the 2022–23 season on loan with Steve Cooper’s men, but his season was cut short mid-season due to a long-term injury.

With the Premier League season lasting less than two weeks, Henderson is yet to make a move to Forest and a deal that could cost United £20million is in the balance.

According to Football Insider, the deal that was in place to take Henderson from United to Forest is being held up due to an injury concern.

Despite the hold-up, Henderson is claimed to be one of Forest’s top targets as the two sides continue to discuss the structure of the fee.

It’s reported that Henderson could leave for an initial fee of £15m with an additional £5m in add-ons, with United also vying to include a sell-on clause.

Ten Hag will be happy with United’s transfer window so far and despite strengthening the areas he had identified as weak before the window, the freedom of being able to do business later in the window is rarely unwanted.
