Manchester City are interested in adding another winger to their squad ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Manchester City have reportedly identified Crystal Palace forward Michael Olise as a potential summer transfer target.

The Blues may be looking to strengthen in wide attacking areas after Riyad Mahrez left the Etihad last week when he signed a one-off £30million deal with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli.

Mahrez made 47 appearances for City last season, scoring 15 goals. This will prove to be a great loss for the European champion.

According to The Athletic, Mahrez’s departure “means City are looking for a replacement winger”, with the club citing Olise as their main focus.

The Palace star is believed to be attractive due to his age (21) and the fact that he’s considered a local.

However, the outlet add that City may not want to pay more than £50m, a price Palace are unlikely to accept for one of the brightest youngsters in the league.

Olise moved to Selhurst Park in 2021 and has played 71 games for the Eagles. The Frenchman became an increasingly important figure for Palace last season, playing in the remaining 37 Premier League games after missing the season opener.

Olise started in the club’s last 18 games of the season and provided 11 assists with only three players – Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah and Leandro Trossard – being better.

However, it was reported by 90min that Chelsea are ‘confident’ they have won the race to sign Olise, who has also attracted interest from Arsenal. In contrast to the The Athletic, 90min add the ex-Reading man could cost just £35m.
