Manchester United are reportedly backed by the signing of Bayer-Leverkusen duo Jeremy Frimpong and Moussa Diaby.

The Red Devils are in dire need of a centre-forward this summer, but Eric ten Haag is also said to be looking for a new right-back and winger for the 2023/24 season.

Both Frimpong and Diaby have established themselves as permanent members of Leverkusen’s first team, but their long-term futures at the club are in question.

Indeed, the Bundesliga duo have two years remaining on their contracts and German news outlet Kicker, via the Daily Mail, claims that Leverkusen are willing to cash in on both players who have been ‘given the green light’ to leave this summer.

The report adds that a contract extension for either player has been ruled out, with Diaby said to have expressed his desire to leave and Frimpong also keen to take the next step in his career.

Since joining Leverkusen from Celtic in January 2021, Frimpong has scored 11 goals and provided 20 assists in 95 competitive appearances for Germany.

Frimpong played at right-back in the 2022/23 season, scoring 9 goals and 11 assists in 48 appearances in Bundesliga, Champions League, Europa League and DFB Cup.
