Newcastle want to save Harry Maguire on loan from Manchester United but need him.

The England centre-back could leave Old Trafford if a deal goes well, but the Red Devils are not going to loan him to Thun as it would help out rivals who are not financially favorable.

It would be a different story if the Magpies brought up a cash offer, and it would also show how serious they are about Maguire.

Aston Villa want additional coverage of the team ahead of their European tour and are monitoring developments.

Villa will likely be accepted by United for a rental deal.

Tottenham are interested in signing the 30-year-old, but are yet to make an appearance.

Leicester liked it, but relegation put an end to that idea.

Maguire wants to stay at Old Trafford.

United players are reportedly set to receive pay raises after qualifying for the Champions League.

And Maguire’s current salary of around £200,000 a week will already be hard to match for most of Prem’s rivals.

He made just 16 appearances in the top league all season.

The Old Trafford manager wants to secure funding to further his bid for Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae.

The South Korean star, who is also eyeing Newcastle, has a £42million release clause effective 1 July.

Meanwhile, the Magpies are interested in Middlesbrough and Hull goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
