Manchester United could go all out for a new striker this summer.

Rasmus Hojlund is reportedly Manchester United’s top target this summer after Eric ten Haag has made “multiple video calls” with the highly rated striker. With United set to sign at least one central striker this summer, Harry Kane was a top priority. But reports in this week’s

suggest that United could be eyeing the 20-year-old Hojlund, who was critically acclaimed in Serie A last season. There are already signs United are losing confidence that Tottenham are ready to sell Kane to a direct rival this summer.

Randall Kolo-Muani is considered a strong option if United make a move for Hoylund and would want to introduce another option up front. But the appointment of Hojlund and Muani would completely prevent United from having one of Europe’s most prolific strikers.

Express Sport look at five forwards who could miss United.

Harry Kane
It’s no secret that United are interested in signing the England international and he ticks all the boxes. But interest in Hojlund and Muani suggests United have long-term plans under Ten Haag.

Both players are significantly cheaper than Kane, leaving a change that can be used elsewhere on the roster.

Victor Osimhen

Most United fans want the club to sign either Kane or Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian forward could become a big deal for the Red Devils as he cemented his name into the legend of Napoli by leading them to Serie A glory last season.

However, Naples are in a strong position in the negotiations, and like Kane, Osimhen won’t be cheap this summer.

Dusan Vlahovic
United were reportedly close to signing Dusan Vlahovic in the January transfer window before signing Wout Wegorst on loan. Juventus appear ready to listen to offers this summer, but United could look elsewhere.

Gonzalo Ramos
It didn’t take long for the Portuguese youngster to follow in Darwin Nunes’ footsteps at Benfica and make an impression on a global scale at the World Cup. His performances for Portugal have caught the attention of clubs across Europe and Benfica face a battle for the fate of another star striker this summer.

Jonathan David
The Canadian striker has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and is likely to make a move this summer after a successful season in Ligue 1. Only Kylian Mbappe and Alexandre Lacazette have scored more goals for the French side. He’s in the top league this season, but United don’t seem to be pursuing him like they used to.
