Altay Bayindir
Made his home debut nearly 13 months on from his arrival and had little to do despite a bullish Barnsley start. 6
Diogo Dalot
Back at right back and more central to United’s attacking moves, albeit against third-tier opponents. Came off early, having started every game this season. 7
Harry Maguire
A calm performance on a routine night ahead of his probable bench role at Crystal Palace on Saturday. 6
Jonny Evans
Moved over to the left at times as United encouraged Toby Collyer to move into midfield from left back. 6
Toby Collyer
Played a hospital pass before he played a pass by starting at left back. Fortunate not to get booked but got to move into midfield. 5
Manuel Ugarte
Showed some of the attributes that convinced United to sign him. Won the ball for Alejandro Garnacho’s fourth goal and conceded some fouls. 6
Casemiro
Started sloppily and gave away a foul but was largely in his element, playing further forward and getting involved in attacks. 6
Antony
Won and scored the penalty after Casemiro appeared to hand him the responsibility from 12 yards. 6
Christian Eriksen
Played further forward than usual at club level and made light work of dictating the play against the League One artisans. Assisted Garnacho and scored two nice goals. 8
Marcus Rashford
Ended any remote chance of a shock with the 16th-minute opening goal and got on the scoresheet again in the second half. 8
Alejandro Garnacho
Two more goals and got the assists for Rashford’s goals. United’s most lethal attacker this season yet he could be a substitute again at Palace. 8
Subs
Noussair Mazraoui
Created a chance for Garnacho. 6
Bruno Fernandes
Had a run-out and assisted Eriksen. 7
Joshua Zirkzee
Shot wide. 5
Matthijs de Ligt
Replaced Evans. 6
Amad
Bright despite late appearance. 6
Manager
Only erred by unfairly playing Collyer at left back. Made a sensible number of changes and has plenty of confident players going into the weekend. 8
