Jorginho played his first minutes of the season as he captained Arsenal to victory in the north London derby win at Tottenham. They now face Atalanta in the Champions League on Thursday night before City and Jorginho says the whole squad will have to play their part if they are to be successful this season.
He added: “We know it is a long season and anything can happen. Everybody needs to be ready. That is what we try to do. We are very positive and trust our group and what we are doing. We need to keep on this way.
“Manchester City is going to come after. We need to focus on the next game. There is Champions League now and that is our focus. Atalanta will be a really tough and physical game. They are a very physical team. It is not going to be easy, for sure. A hot atmosphere in Italy. We need to be ready for another battle.”
