Bobb may not have played in the biggest games but, like Foden and Palmer before him, the way he has handled the challenges that have been presented to him leaves no doubt that he could handle bigger occasions. If he is outperforming Grealish against Celtic and AC Milan, he has to be a genuine threat for minutes when the Premier League begins.
At the very least, it offers City a level of cover for the start of the campaign that they may not have thought they would have. With Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva and Savinho only beginning their pre-season next week in Manchester, Bobb looks a certainty to start the Community Shield and could write his name into the teamsheet against Chelsea and or Ipswich after that.
With every performance Bobb gives, his ceiling and his chances of regular first-team football only get higher.
