Andre Onana

Made a good stop, albeit from an offside action, and was proactive outside the area. The only starter to play more than a half and impressively denied Leandro Trossard. 7

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Struggled to impress, particularly in the final third, and Arsenal picked the lock to equalise down his side

Harry Maguire

A solid half on his return from a two-and-a-half month lay-off with a calf injury. Gabriel Jesus was nearby for the goal but Harry Amass’ responsibility. 6

Leny Yoro

Survived a hairy early moment but his performance was moot as he was forced off injured before the end of the first half. 6

Harry Amass

Started confidently and wowed the crowd with his footwork but switched off briefly for Gabriel Jesus’s equaliser, though he may have been offside. 5

Toby Collyer

Another positive half from the midfielder, who was energetic, aware and embarked on an adventurous charge towards the end of the half. 6

Casemiro

Looks fitter than he did in pre-season last year but still too sloppy on the ball and never had a modicum of control against Jorginho. 5

Amad

Could have scored with a good early chance but hit it straight at the goalkeeper. Also went down hurt but got back up. 6

Mason Mount

United’s best player. Dynamic in the No.10 role, he assisted Hojlund and created a chance for Amad before that. 7

Marcus Rashford

Involved in the goal on his second pre-season appearance but otherwise quiet as Arsenal had the majority of possession. Made way at half-time. 6

Rasmus Hojlund

Scored one minute and then injured the next. Came off after only 15 minutes, having put United 1-0 up. 6

Subs

Hannibal Mejbri

Replaced Hojlund after 16 minutes and still came off at half-time with the rest of the outfield starters. 5

Rhys Bennett

Played ten minutes. 5

James Scanlon

Had a nervy start and had his work cut out when matchwinner Gabriel Martinelli emerged. 4

Jonny Evans

A largely assured performance from the 36-year-old. 6

Will Fish

A fish out of water for Martinelli’s goal. 5

Sam Murray

Not as proactive as he would have liked to be due to Arsenal’s ball possession. 6

Scott McTominay

A quiet return. 5

Christian Eriksen

Had a shot deflected over. 6

Ethan Wheatley

Led the line in the second half and had little to go off. 5

Antony

Sported bright hair but not a bright performance. 5

Maxi Oyedele

A steady performance in midfield. 6

Jadon Sancho

Injected some energy into proceedings at times. 6
