Manchester United are embroiled in a feud between Eric ten Hag and winger Jadon Sancho.

Jadon Sancho and Erik ten Hag disagree on why he was left out of the squad this weekend.

Sancho is now frustrated and already upset that he has not been selected as a starter in any of his first three Premier League games.

Ten Hag believes Sancho’s level of training wasn’t as high as it could have been. Sancho made it clear that he did not agree with that.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka points the way forward

Lack of playing time will be a problem for Sancho, who has played an important role in pre-season. He’ll feel like he’s worked hard and deserves a chance to start.

But even if he thinks Ten Hag’s remarks are wrong, he’s proving his point on the training ground and nobody can prove it better than £50m defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

It seemed like Wan-Bissaka disappeared last fall. Erik ten Hag injured himself while he was still in good shape and neglected him.

There were also a few occasions when Ten Hag preferred playing Tyrell Malacia at right-back to Wan-Bissaka.

The defender definitely stayed calm, worked hard and took the opportunity when it presented itself.

Wan-Bissaka is currently regarded as Manchester United’s number one right-back and one of the best professionals never to have been beaten by an opposing wing.

Sancho can use this as a turning point

Jadon Sancho had a couple of issues at Borussia Dortmund before kicking on and making a name for himself.

He can still use this unfortunate experience as a turning point in his Manchester United career.

Now entering his third season at the club, Sancho will be frustrated at how it has panned out so far.

It may be more convenient to point the finger at Ten Hag, however, the onus is on him to raise his levels and fulfil his potential. Wan-Bissaka should be an unlikely inspiration.
